Hectic day at work or shall I say one of my three jobs. My boss tells me that I have amazing talent....but...I have no idea what she said I sort of tuned her ass out lol. I know wasn't right but shit I had too. So it started raining/snowing/hailing/ whatever you want to call it today in the city and might I add it was beautiful. finally home, was greeted by the greatest grandparents and the best plate of diner! Fish with Rice and Peas. lol. ummmm delicious.
FINALLY got the Keysh album and of course, I'm a die hard keyshia fan so I'm listening to it for the rest of the night, til the morning, and the next night, til i scratch the words off the cd lol.
quote for the night *you cant be complimented if you dont deserve it*

define "winter break"
So winter break finally started and I have enjoyed it since...lol..2 internships (1 as a fashion assistant at a magazine & the other the assistant editor to a publications firm) dont forget h&m on the weekends & when I finally find the time I get to the year book. Im in dire need of a drink, a club, a something. so here's something I wrote...
Friday Morning Love Affair
Perfectly jelled hair
smokey grey eyeshadow
purses clutched to waist
heels in baf
sneakers on feet
interrupting closing doors
ipod set on shuffle
everyone is rushing
coming to go
stopping to stay
for a brief moment
they believe
in themselves
in their jobs
in their hustle
they pretend this is the life
everyone's morning hustle
to stay at a job
saturday they claimed they hated it
it pays the bills
buys me prada
makes me look like them it girls
forgetting what drove their hearts
forgetting what they promised their
younger selves.
driven by the the greed that turns the world
forgetting what they learned in grad school
life isn't what the books make it seem
destiny isn't something fate controls
jobs aren't the definition of our true selves
so why have this love affair?
...For the love of the hustle.
blah some bs i wrote on the train can't complain about the outcome its whatever.

I forgot my quote
feeling of the night "when my bulb was out you didnt want to help me shine, now that im shinnin' you wanna shine as bright"
the quote for the night, "maybe if you dull your bulb, those around you wont be afraid to shine"
>>caution, if you let someone shine at the wrong time, it will ruin the dynamics of the friendship<<

longest weekend ever
finally, the end of the weekend is here. Now usually I'm one for long weekends and breaks, but for some reason its not working with me. I sat through a 2 hour and 30 minute meeting for the yearbook, lol, sounds corny, but I'm the editor so I must sit through them. Thanksgiving is on thursday, and I still don't have definite plans =/ hmmm maybe i should work on that, but oh well, I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, back on the grind tomorrow. 31st & 5th. my new love <3

come & go
So i've realized that some friends that I had for years on end have turned into complete strangers. I guess the test of college strained friendships so much, we lost ourselves. At first I was upset about leaving some people behind, but then again I've realized that some people grow apart and in college you find out who your true friends are. Although its frustrating realizing that your circle gets smaller and smaller as the year draws to a closer end, I guess they've served the seasonal purpose/teaching me a lesson in life. Goodbye to the sweet memories, hello to the ones that have yet to be made.
to those who have thugged it out with me, literally thugged it out with me, i thank you for the crazy memories and the amazing times, lets keep them coming!!
Quote for the night -"you dont need assistance in getting where you're going; success is sweeter if achieved alone"

the middle of the week has shown me some love
2 reasons why my day was so amazing & it's only Wednesday =)
1. I took my senior portraits today, graduation day is around the corner
2. I took the greatest 3 hour nap in the world
Now I know naps aren't supposed to be for "n*ggas on they grown man/woman ish" but I am by far one of the busiest seniors/21 year old you will come across. from 5 classes, 3 jobs, 2 internships...I barely sleep even when I am sleeping lol.

Love is a Full time job
Relationships, to some people, are described as being the most beautiful things in the world. Love is something that everyone wants to find, or silently hopes they feel and come across. Sometimes love isn't as nice and sweet as people make it sound. Relationships are like a job. It takes a lot of hours and over time to make something work. Here is my relation between an office and a relationship.
Every object in the office has a specific job.
Every word or situation in a relationship is either positively or negatively affected by a situation.
Now when you get to work, you must always punch in the time clock right?
now depending on how many hours you dedicate to work you are going to see the "pay off" in your actual check.
Now in relationships you do not actually get a check, but you get rewarded with with efforts you contribute.
Every hour that you dedicate in being with your spouse, chick, girl, dude, jump off or whatever you want to call them, wifey, mistress, and all the above, the fact of the matter is that time helps build stronger bonds, and stronger connections.
*side bar* if you dont want your jump off or your side piece to catch feelings, dont spend the same amount of time with them as you do with you actual girlfriend or actual wifey...thats how they catch feelings, they start to think they can move up in the food chain and they start tryna take over*
But anyway, depending on the job you have, each office has a computer or a cash register to help document each transaction and store vital information that is helpful in the success in the relation, and in the job.
Now each job and relationship employee store and remember things that they want to. You can think that you had a great day at work, but your boss may believe that your job performance was horrible.
Your girlfriend might think you guys had the most romatic evening, but you could believe that it was by far the worst diner she ever cooked for you..lol..*trust me it happens*
Now the most important object on a desk, may be a stapler. It binds, holds and keeps things together.
Now for the relationship you can think of anything that can hold the relationship together for how ever long you want, need or simply desire. For instance, some may subsitute sex, music, dates and converstations to help bind the relationship. It might be a hobby that you are equally obessed with, ie. sneakers, cars, food and so forth.
Now depending on how many hours you put in at work, depends on how long your break is. Now i know when im at work, i mainly look forward to my lunch break. An entire hour to catch up on my emails, my text messages and my missed phone calls and voicemails. Now on this lunch break, you feel free, invigorated because no one will bother you for the entire duration of your break and you are just another person walking to get food, or going to enjoy your cig break.
..In my case, i 9 times out of 10 am not talkin to my boyfriend for my break, i usually end up talking to someone else or massively texting other people about plans for this weekend, or catching up on drama and jokes.
Just like a job, in relationships everyone needs a break, to do them. Feel human, some may want to go chill with their jumps their side piece etc. but many believe that they are entitled to hang with their girls, their fellas and let loose. For a moment think about themselves and what makes them happy outside of their current relationship.
If the job treats you right, you want to stay, no need to look for another job that pays better, or gives you the time off you requested without having to fight and argue for it.
Relationships are the same way. If it is as happy as people believe and think it is, then it will prosper and everyone will be happy.
